Lotions To Achieve A Tan Without The Dangers
Tanning has been popular with millions of women around the world through the decades but as time has gone by a lot more has been learned about the dangers of exposure to the sun for too long and the risks with using tanning beds.
While the sun is good for health and helps to release Vitamin D, too much exposure to harmful rays can be dangerous and have serious consequences in the long term.
Years ago sunbeds were the great new thing and some users mistook them for being safer than getting a natural tan from the sun but they can be equally as dangerous and a common problem over the years arose of users literally becomming addicted to using them and topping up on their tan not only daily but with some people going to extremes and using them twice daily.
Tanning lotions have also been around for some time but up until a few years ago they could either be quite disappointing with the results that they gave, or the decent ones would be out of many peoples price range.
Now some of the well known toiletry brands have released their own tanning lotions and they are available at affordable prices, the good thing about them is they are firstly moituriser lotions with a hint of tanning ingredient added to them.
They absord into the skin well and you benefit from moisturised skin with the added color that they provide without resulting in an unnatural orange color.
There are of course the more expensive lotions available from brands specialising in tanning lotions and products and if your looking for a darker and often quite fast or instant tan then this is a good choice for you.
Not everyone seeks a bronze look though and many women are content enough with a tanning lotion that will just take the pale edge off of their skin, especially in the colder months when there is less sunshine so these readily available lotions can be an ideal solution where you seek a bit of color without putting your skin and your health in any danger.
The ease of application means that you can apply more to your skin as and when you want, daily application is easy enough to help you maintain color and with the fact that the tan builds up slowly you dont end up going from really pale to suddenly over tanned, you can control the amount of color that you want as you see the tan build up over the first few days.
Some will tan you quicker, while others are very gradual and you may need to experiment with a few of the brands until you find one that you maybe prefer over the others.
The smell of the lotion too can be a factor when choosing which one to use, because some women will try a brand and find that they are not too keen on the after smell of the product, and may choose a different brand purely for perfume reasons.
Get a tan that is safe and that you can afford and also one that looks natural with these popular and readily available moisturiser and tanning lotions.
Face Makeup Primer
Applying a good primer to your face as a base to work on should not affect negatively in any way how your makeup will look if it is of good quality and lightweight, some have a skin protection ingredient included to help protect your skin from the harm that can be caused by the sun.
The primer should also help in preventing excess oil from showing through, if thin enough then it should provide a nice even and subtle layer that is in place for your foundation or powder.
After applying a primer it should aid the application of makeup so that your makeup goes on quite easily and it has done half of the job for you by providing a base to work on.
Preparation is half of the job, so when applying makeup and having a primer in place underneath, it helps you get that fantastic and even look and can prevent any problem oily areas from appearing throughout the day.
The Effects Of Heat On Hair
With the various amounts of styling needed for different hairstyles it can take its toll on your hair and if caution isn’t taken then you can end up with quite damaged hair, breakage and what turns out to be hair that becomes more frustrating to work with.
Heat to an extent can be fine for the hair, but when you are styling regularly and are using a hair dryer as well as straighteners or curling tongs then before long you can start to see damage taking place and understandably you may not want to use the straighteners any less than you do and may depend on them quite a lot and if your pressed for time then naturally a hair dryer helps speed thengs up when your needing to get your hair dried on time.
Any chance that you can though, even if its just after every few washes you should try and take as much of the excess moisture from your hair naturally with a towel, leave it in place and let it do the work for you, and any straightening creams that will make the job easier for you and mean less time needed of the straighteners actually touching your hair will make a difference.
Even when your washing your hair, if you can keep the temperature of the water slightly lower, not cold or lukewarm, theres no need to be uncomfortable, but not so hot that it feels too hot against your face, the water temperature should be comfortable enough so that you dont feel too much heat on your face when it touches.
When using a hair dryer you can turn down the heat but if turning down the heat means having to hold the dryer to your hair for longer then it may be equally as bad and not make a difference, also using way too much of a straighening creame may gunge up your hair so much that again it takes longer for the hair dryer to penetrate its way through the hairs, especially round the back where your hair may be thicker and so you end up holding the dryer to your hair for longer.
Its about getting a balance with the use of styling tools as well as the creams, serums and any other products that you use.
Half way through drying your hair with a hair dryer, stop and leave your hair to cool down for about a minute, then use clean hands to touch your hair, especially around the back and sides to see where the hair is mostly dried and where it may still be damp, by doing this you avoid over drying an area of your hair that could dry it out too much and make your hair prone to breakage.
Also some areas of your hair where you have applied a product can clump your hair together where it may look like it is still wet, touch it after letting it cool down and brush it through, you will soon know if your hair in that area is still really wet and in need of further drying.
If your hair does become damaged through excessive heat from regular styling you can always repair your hair slowly but its much better if you can prevent the damage from hapenning in the first place.
