Getting Tanning Right

Posted by admin 10 March, 2010 (0) Comment

Nowadays we have more choice and much better tanning products to work with, whether you still prefer using a sunbed or opt for a spray tan or self tanning creams there is now the possibility to get a more natural looking tan without having spent time out in the sun.

It is still one of the areas of beauty though that can be done so badly and although people can point out to someone how their tan may not look very natural, its often the case that the individual will take no heed, probably still think that they are not dark enough or that its not being noticed enough and go even further with the whole process.

Everyone knows the jokes that float around and the comments that people make about bad tanning, we all see the examples of what you shouldn’t do and how bad it can look if you get it wrong.

The celebs are common examples of how it can all be taken too far and the person ends up looking jaundice or the classic tangoed look where you feel like holding a mirror to anyone that you see looking that way and saying to them “look this is really how you look, it doesn’t look healthy, it looks weird” :)

Its often suggested that a tan can make people look healthy and its true, it doesn’t have to be a natural tan from sunbathing for you to get that healthy look.

If you get the amount just right, whether its a self tanning cream or a spray tan or actually from a little time in the sun, you can look fantastic as it can take away a pale and tired look that you may have had beforehand but is just enough that you are not standing out to anyone in an alarming “oh my word” type of way.

Have you noticed how celebs like Katie Price seem to take tanning too far, they can have great faces that end up looking dulled and matte like, because even with makeup they no longer have that look where certain areas of their facial features are accentuated.

No doubt most of them will probably have a fantastic skin routine that they strictly follow too, both for their facial skin and for their body but by overdoing the tanning they then seem to spoil a good thing.

Everything in moderation is so true, less is more is of course another true saying, i could mention more of them but you get the idea.

Its so easy to go one step too far when trying to improve your look, i think one thing that can cause this to happen is that people get used to how something looks and then begin to think that its not enough, so they might look in the mirror and think that they dont look tanned enough now because they have got used to the color, its similar to how you wont smell a fragrance from a shampoo or conditioner as much if you have been using the same one for a while.

That of course doesn’t mean that your hair products no longer have that frangrance, its just that your sense of smell has got used to it so it wont appear to have as strong a fragrance to yourself.

Also comparing your skin up against someone elses and panicking that you must look really pale against theirs is not a good thing to do as you need to remember that each person will have a different skin tone, and hair color too will make a difference to how you look when tanned.

Some people when tanning naturally can go very dark quite quickly, while some people will feel like the sun chooses to bounce off of their skin and never penetrate enough to bring out a little color in them.

You need to tan (whichever way you choose) in a way that looks natural, go by your natural skin tone first, take a look at your natural hair color or your current hair color if its dyed or highlighted and dont compare yours to other peoples.

To get your tanning looking right and complimenting your look instead of undoing some of your hard work to look good you need to approach and maintain your tanning in a way that is right for you.

Zits and acne are the sure things to happen in one’s life. Some of us get more while others get less but nobody can escape the puberty. To treat your acne with medicated products, there are numerous acne medications available which deal with all of your acne ailments. To combat your acne, there are a number of factors like stress, environment, lifestyle and hormones that have to be checked. However, in most cases, it is genetics which is mainly responsible for your acne.

Among a wide variety of acne medications, medicated products have largely been used by the majority of people. These medicated products work as an exfoliant by drying up the acne since they contain some drying properties. The ingredients that are used in it include benzoyl peroxide and salycic acid. However, the dermatologists suggest that people having sensitive skin should go in for the products containing salycic acid in comparison with the products that contain benzoyl peroxide.

Now, when it comes to choosing various medicated products as your acne medications, there are certain things that one should keep in mind. They are listed below:

First of all, you should know your skin type. If you have oily skin, you have to choose a gel based acne product; however, people with dry skin may go for a cream. On the other hand, if you have combination skin, the product that works best on afflicted areas may be ideal. In case the growth of your acne increases on the oily spots, a gel may prove best. If your skin is dry one, a cream may be the best option.

If you use a medicated product that is too strong, then it may do more harm than good by over-drying the area and cause the skin to react by increasing oil production which may result in more acne. If you have sensitive skin, milder formulations are the best options for you.

Of these medicated products, a wide variety of mild creams may be used as acne medications. However, remember that some creams happen to be too harsh to use before you have the acne. It would be highly recommended that you read the instructions given on the pack carefully and use the medication as directed by the manufacturer. Apply the medication on only those areas that are affected by acne.

In case you find these medicated products excessively painful, you are advised to take some anti-inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen and contact your dermatologist immediately.

If your medicated product doesn’t seem to work and your skin has large pustules showing in clusters and also causing scars and the blemishes do not go easily, then you are highly recommended to stop your acne medication and consult with your doctor.

In conclusion, there is a plethora of acne medications available consisting of various medicated products, you have to remember certain things and also take all precautions before you go in for some particular medicated product since some of the medicated products may do more harm than good.
