healthy-hairAs anyone who uses various styling products and heat on their hair will know, eventually all of that messing with the hair takes it’s toll on the hair strands, even if you have tried to keep any use of heat to a minimum, over the long term your hair starts to show damage, the amount of damage being dependant on many factors, including your overall health, diet, any medication used and exposure to the sun.

Improving your nutrition and getting extra vitamins and minerals in your food intake as well as through the use of dietry supplements will go some way to improving the condition of your hair and some supplements  especially can bring satisfying results.

One of those that can make a noticeable difference to the growth, strength and look of your hair is sea kelp.

Many who have used a sea kelp supplement say that they have seen very positive results, and for some even within just a few days they have noticed quite a difference.

A sea kelp supplement wont be difficult to get hold of, nor will it cost more than the other supplements often mentioned and because many people may not want to comsume sea kelp as a food or know how best to add it into their diet it makes it a lot easier if you can get it in a supplement form.

Some of the benefits that you begin to see are faster hair growth, which can be handy if you are working towards a longer style, also the hair will generally be stronger, so less breakage when brushing your hair.

And your hair is going to look a lot better overall, if you have noticed that your hair was beginning to look thin and weak before taking sea kelp, you should notice extra thickness and the strands not only being stronger but looking stronger and better.

You still need to make sure that you are not too harsh with the products that you use on your hair, and with the amount of heat used, but with the help of a sea kelp supplement, you will be able to get your hair back to looking and being more healthy again.

Posted by admin 4 December, 2008 (0) Comment

With manicures performed on your hands and nails and having your fingernails decorated you can have fantastic looks nails but you may still want to further improve them and may notice imperfections with your nails.

Something that some women may find when inspecting their fingernails are ridges on the surface of the nails, you can usually see them and if you gently run one of your fingers from side to side over the nail you will be able to feel the ridges too.

Other than this your fingernails may be healthy and fine in appearance and fortunately there is something that you can do to reduce and eventually rid your fingernails of these ridges.

The ridges are usually down to a deficiency in zinc and you can easily increase your intake by using a zinc supplement or by increasing or adding foods to your daily diet that are high in zinc and if you keep this up you will eventually see the ridges on the surface of your fingernails disappear.

Some foods that are high in zinc include beef, lamb, turkey, chicken and salmon as well as milk and cheese, peanuts, brown rice, potatoes and yogurt.

Depending on the types of food that you like and your ability to comsume certain food products it is always advisable to get the majority of vitamins and minerals from foods first but using a supplement available from chemists, health food stores and online retailers is fine if you prefer to increase your intake that way.

Now combining your manicures and regular pampering of your hands and fingernails along with increasing your intake of zinc through diet or supplements or both can result in really beautiful and healthy looking fingernails that you will be proud of and want to show off.
