Dealing With Facial Spots

Posted by admin 25 February, 2009

Nobody likes an outbreak of spots, whether its just a couple or more, the first thing that you usually want to do is get rid of them as quickly as possible.

There are many ways of dealing with spots, some for a relatively quick fix, when dealing with one or two spots and other more long term approaches in order to prevent spots from appearing in the first place.

What actually works and what works best for each person requires experimentation but listed below are some ideas for dealing with spots and ideally for keeping any occurance of spots minimal.

When you already have spots:

  • Toothpaste
  • TCP (Probably best avoided on open skin though)
  • Lemon Juice
  • Clearasil or a similar product
  • Olive Oil
  • Sudocrem

For The Prevention Of Spots

  • Facial Skincare Routine, including exfoliation, toner and moisturising.
  • Diet, reducing the amounts of less healthy oils within your food intake.
  • A product like Clean & Clear, try opting for something not too harsh on the skin.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Avoid becoming tired and run down, easier said than done, i know.
  • A good balanced diet, including plenty of vitamins.
  • Fresh Air.
  • Mild exposure to the sun when possible.
  • Possibly switching to organic cleansing and makeup products.

Some products and approaches wont work for some people, and in cases of where its not just a few spots but deep acne then a visit to your local GP to get advice on what may be the best approach for you is a good idea.

A GP may suggest you see a specialist, depending on any severity of acne that you may be experiencing.

But for general facial spots that appear, then the above suggestions can go some way to preventing them from appearing and if any do appear you can get rid of them a bit quicker by trying some of the simple methods above.
