Using a High SPF Cream Even On Cloudy Days

Posted by admin 16 April, 2009

sunshine-and-cloudsQuite naturally, people associate SPF creams with use when the sun is shining brightly, on those hot summer days and feel this is the only time that they need to be using protective creams but the fact is that even when the skies are overcast and cloudy it is still a good idea to use a sun protection cream.

One of the major, actually probably the most major contributer to wrinkles is damage from the sun, excessive tanning and exposure to the sun will definately age your skin prematurely as well as tanning from sunbeds.

Even with overcast skies, if you are outside for a few hours, especially when on the coast, it can be quite easy to get a touch of sunburn if your fair skinned.

The mistake some people can make is by thinking that if they cant see the sun shining up in a clear blue sky that its somehow less dangerous and damaging for their skin but the UVA and UVB rays are still filtering through and this is why using a cream with a high SPF is a good idea, even for those types of days.

You might be thinking that this is only needed in hotter climates, but its actually needed in any type of climate, the benefit that you will gain will be noticeable over the years, by protecting your skin in this way you are not only lowering the potential amount of wrinkles as you get older but also other problems that the harmful rays from the sun can cause.

Using a product with an SPF of 30 upwards is a good idea as you are really getting good protection and used daily on any area of your skin that is exposed will provide long term benefits for you.

So remember, even if the sun isn’t glaring and its not exactly one of the warmest days of the year, you should still protect your exposed skin with a high SPF cream.
